Robert Burns - Itinerary 1 - Full Day The Beginning at Alloway
The Scottish Bard, was born in Ayrshire, and is celebrated throughout the world. Visit his birthplace in Alloway, experience one of his most famous poems - Tam O'Shanter - enjoy the gardens and monument built in his honour, and see paintings inspired by his works at Rozelle House in this full day suggested itinerary. If you've time, you might also visit the house of his friend - Souter Johnnie's Cottage over at Kirkoswald. The route runs along Ayrshire's stunning coast, where there are castles and even a natural optical illusion to look out for on the way.
